Maruta is a shared-plate style restaurant where meals are cooked with firewood, established in a house near the Jindaiji Gardens. At Maruta, meals are grilled in full view over an open fireplace and served to our guests on a shared platter while seated around a 5.5 m long banquet table. We would like Maruta to be a place where a guest can comfortably dine alone and feel at home.
Maruta co-hosts annual workshops with Green Wise Co., Ltd., intended to expand the circle of empathy and emphasize the connection between people and their environment. During such events customers may have an opportunity to harvest vegetables from our garden and prepare them in various ways either by preserving them for later enjoyment or grilling them on the restaurant terrace which faces the courtyard.
We at Maruta hope to nurture a cooperative connection with our community through the mutual enjoyment of a pleasant atmosphere and stimulating cuisine.
